Just got my pair from the post office. Box is a lot smaller that one would think of a kit this size.

Shipped the 17th, got the notification on the 25th.

Will definitely do some dry fitting before I leave .

Exclamation Missing parts..

Check your kit for missing parts. Many people that have this kit say they are missing a few parts because of the way the sprues are bagged.

Mine had three parts off the trees, but I found two of them lodged inside other parts, so just one (F15). LM has already replied to my parts request and hope to have it in the next two weeks. The whole deal on how they bagged this kit is not stellar, only the clear sprue is separately bagged, all the others are banging and clanging with each other.

The Monogram kit wheels look to be the most accurate, judging from the ref pics on Prime Portal.

I'll take the Royale Resin wheels every day of the week and twice on Sunday. The tread grooves and lack of a seam to fill along make it the obvious choice!

Plus the monogram has a strange trapezoid shape to it when viewed from the side...

I got one at Modelworld in Telford.

Dry fitted it today.

Its a big model =) very big. The dimensions seem to be in order with data from the books. Wingspan and length are OK!!

Panel lines are too wide... but well... this is the only model on the market..
For fun I compare the panel lines of Kinetic E-2C to Tamiya's F-16 =)

It has some odd joint at the bottom of the fuselage. You need to force it to join. So, some work will be required here.

Apart from that there is a couple of minor seams where the wings are connected to the fuselage but nothing to really worry about.

As I said - it is a big model! Compare it to F-5E and Su-15TM in 48th!!

Most of those don't exist on the real thing either except for a couple lap (not butt) joins around the wing.

Witch of the RR wheels is the one that can be used on the Hawkeye? The early (R012) or the late (R013)? I'm going to replace the originale one's because they look to flat to me.

Thanks,

Michiel

I'd go with late EA-6B. Same wheels on the Prowler as the E-2C.

Oh, shit yeah, the Royale Resin wheels are the way to go...I changed enough Hummer tires to know that tread pattern. I'll have to add the "bull's eye" myself is all!

Default Wheels

My kit was missing one wheel. Are Royale Resin wheels a good replacement?
Thanks
Mike
