It's called "Individual Climate Control Zones". Why just annoy everyone with the cabin being too warm or too cool when you can REALLY annoy everyone?

Sprue shots up on Luckymodel.com.

Seems like there's no pebbly texture on the molded surfaces. Nice!

Looks like they plan a "Hawkeye 2000", with the inclusion of the CEC underside antenna fairing...but no 8 bladed props. I'm sure they'll be releasing future varients. Like the break down of the kit. I just finished a 1/72 Hasagawa "2000" and the sprue layout is pretty similar. I like the way they went with the clear parts, with the open hatch options as well aas the nose section molded in clear, good call.

Mmmmm, mmm, wick-ed good! (A fun song from back in the 70s)

Haaaaa. Never heard that one...might be before my time but it definitely sounds like something the Mainers would drum up..."Androscoggin River Water", mmmmm, oh man, that's pissah!
Maine does have some great local beers though, friggin' miss them, "Shipyard Ale" from Portland is great. You can find it at pretty good beer stores up and down the east coast. Narragansett was a good cheap brew from up those parts back in the day also.

Good new for me. I've been wanting a 48th version of this kit since 1992.

Any idea of the shipping time if ordered from Lucky Model to the states?

While I'm here, does anyone (Sponge, maybe?) know why the E-2Cs never were painted in the TPS scheme? Not that I'm complaining... Gull over white forever!

Shipping from Lucky will get to you in under 2 weeks to the States with standard shipping via Hong Kong Post and USPS. There may be a UPS/FedEx option but I'm usually not in that much of a hurry, but they'd be better whith tracking than USPS options.

I do look forward to a build article on it, even if I probably won't be buying one, for a while yet. Maybe when we get Israeli or even Egyptian markings

I've been lead to understand that there was never a need to switch identified. Bangwagons typically don't get in the middle of the action. Furthermore, the Gull Grey is easier to keep clean!

Granted, I can't remember who told me that... I'm sure Sponge can roll in and be more specific.

Cant wait to see what one of these looks like. Im all for model show previews, but I want first hand modeler accounts before I get one. Extremely interested though. Like many others, Ive wanted one of these for quite some time.

It's a Geneve Convention technicallity. Unarmed Surveillance aircraft (E-2, E-3, E-8, RC-135) are technically in the support category and are not to be intentionally targeted according to the convention. Support aircraft shall be in high-visibility markings to identify them from combat aircraft.

Total BS, we all know. But them's the rules.

BTW - fill in all the seams except for the small ovals on the nose and the hinged nosecone. They're not there on the real aircraft. The only noticible fuselage seams are forward and aft of the wing...and these are lap (not butt) joins.

looks like an above average release. Looks like some panel line filling will be needed. Want one but going to wait for the -2000 upgrade

Gotta love the four-bladed prop version.
