Seems like there was a thread on this- either here or on ARC, a while ago.

There was some CADD pics of the beastie posted on ARC earlier this summer or late spring.

It'll still be a ways off before we'll see it. I am not sure if this is to be done before or after the F-5 that was shown in CADD earlier this year

Linked for informational purposes only not a flame Kinetic (or me) thread

There's a thread around here somewhere I started back in June or so on this topic too...

It will be the only option outside of the CollectAire kit, so beggars can't necessarily be choosers for this aircraft in 1/48.

You have to think it will at least be decent and at a lower price than the resin version.

Good Lord. With as many lumps, bumps, bends, rounds, tails, antennas and props and also coming from Kinetic! Jeeze. That kit will be flamed, torched, napalmed, burnt, and melted by the gurus. Let's see, we've only waited on a 48th scale E-2 since it's first flight in 1960. Man, all those great matkings! I'm sure it won't be "correct' but, I can't wait!!!

I think you did also....

One good (or bad) thing of being a rumourmonger is that I know where the links I have buried in threads are and sometimes that is easier than using a sometimes twitchy search function!

I wonder what (or how) a decal for the VAW-123 Screwtops radome will be done, wouldn't that be wider than a normal decal sheet is for the aftermarket guys?

Not much in the way of info, but this is hannants listing for the Kinetic kit:

http://www.hannants.co.uk/search/?FULL=K48013

And here's their listing for the Special Hobby kit, again, no real info:

Matt
For comparison: 1/48 desktop display (wooden?) model...
http://www.aviation-central.com/1946-1970/afp40.htm

Per Navy tech site, E-2C radome is "24 feet in diameter"; so that scales out to 6" in 1/48...

I don't care if it is a Kinetic kit, I want one! And let's face it guys, most of us buy a new kit, stick it in the "to do" pile to age like a fine wine.
Personally, the time it takes me to buy one and get around to finishing it will be on a 1:1 time scale with buying and taking delivery on a full size Hawkeye.
By that time, I am sure all the resin, photo-etch and decal options will be available to build damn near any version on the planet.

I hope the wing fold is included in the kit. It is pretty much a "must" for this this kit to fit on the shelf!

And a C-2 Subversion!

My personal favourite Carrier plane!

Got to see one from VRC-40 this weekend, although it does not look the same with that 8-bladed prop...

Hopefully it's on the near horizon. Stevens International is showing it on their Kinetic page as a release: http://www2.stevenshobby.com:5641/

Maybe Kinetic will be the company that will answer my dream of a 1/48th scale P2V Neptune.

Cheers,

Scott

that price made me choke on my tea... the damn thing had better fly racetrack patterns around my living room giving me round the clock updates on what my cat is doing for that price.

Hey - that's my picture on the box cover! Guess I know what the decals are

I'd bet we'll see the kit for quite a bit under the SRP...
