Default 2 Degrees 30 Minutes List to Starboard

Roughed in and taped. I think the simple cuts shown and some thin styrene below the port engine access cover should get the required list to starboard.

All cuts made on raised and engraved lines. Sanded the notch in the 2nd pic to get the gap. All in the initial stages so this is a learning curve.

Glued the crew pod back onto the fuselage, the list should show up better when things are glued together. Just a little plastic surgery below the port engine access panel and the intake. A little reinforcing of the joints on the inside and all the resin additions I have collected. This is my first Helo I ever attempted so any pointers or suggestions are welcome.

Got my 2 degree twist, decided to use all the Cobra Models resin stuff collected over the years and do the the twin cannon Soviet version used to defend Bagram AB circa 1988.

Okay, I plead ignorance. What does the title refer to?

The main body of the Hind is 2 degrees 30 min off of the center with respect to the crew module. If you look at pics from head on it is noticeable once you look for it. It looks like a slight twist, but it was engineered this way to offset the torque as I understand it. The only kit that portrays this is the 1/72 Zvezda Hinds, no big thing, just thought I would see if I could get the twist on the 1/48 Revell/Monogram kit. I never built a helicopter before, this is new ground for me.

Back to the Revell Monogram Hind, fuselage is closed, Cobra Cockpit fitted. Re-scribing lost detail now and waiting for Futured Canopy to cure so it can be fitted and masked. Touching up the cockpits & finishing up this area next.

The canopy is affixed, I used the Montex masks and sprayed the inner surface black. I did not like how the Montex masks adhered to the compound curves on the outer surfaces so I used the Montex sheet as a guide and Tamiya tape for the exterior surface. I used Mr. Dissolved Putty with a few drops of Mr. Surfacer 1500 Black to blend the frame to the fuselage.

Finished the twin cannons, a real PITA with what you get work with. I had to scratch a few bits, but should look the part when finished.

Loving this build so far. The 30mm twin cannon Hinds are some of my favorite looking aircraft.

Thanks for looking. Adding details, stub wings, CMK pylons, a few things left to attach then primer. Cobra Weapons & pylon adaptors are very nice, looking forward to loading this beast. Lots of respect for Helo builders, this is a tedious build.

John
