Very nice.

There are subtle differences aside from the antenna as you have pointed out.

Good info.

Good work! I think this is good enough to add to the F-18 sticky. Mods?

A real simple approach by Hasegawa really. Basically it comes down to different tooled veticals, as the rest are options to build and A/B or C/D can be done within the kits parts, found in all Hasey F/A-18A-D Hornet kits. Also, the MLG shock strut option should be mentioned as the Canadian (possibly others) have those upside down struts.

Yep, it ought to make for more good info pinned to the Hornet thread.

What I did when I wanted to get F/A-18A was to buy F/A-18C "Chippy Ho 2004" really cheaply and then order the E sprue from Rainbow Ten - and voila: F/A-18A

Is it just me, or is the pilot in the second pic doing the Funky Chicken?

Next question. Does anyone have a good photo of the JHMCS sensor installed on an F-18 Hornet?

I'll add a question. What about the video camera fit? What bu. no airframes are involved and does anyone have good pics of all of the components in situ. Want to know if I have to add this to my Bengals D Hornet, so a) is it relevant and b) what do I need to scratch-build?

BTW, if you want to be strictly correct (ignoring the incorrectly sized verticals), you can't just shave off the middle bump of the Hasegawa C fin for an A. The lower fairings on the C are in a different position to those on the A as well as being a different shape (as already mentioned).

Is there a good site about the hornet which lists out armament carried (by country). I was trying to find out if the Aussie Bugs can/have carried the HARM. And also still trying to find out what air/ground armament the Spanish Hornets can carry.

G'day Josh,

I don't know of any lists like the one you mentioned but I can tell you that RAAF Hornets don't / haven't carried HARMs.

Cheers,
Motty.

The ONLY Hornet's had Merlin's

Reading this thread is one of the main reasons I don't build such aircraft.

You can bet a pound to a pinch that, although I build for ME, some low life, joy sucking, nit picking twerp is going to tell me that I have the wrong coloured bolt head on the back of the cat spools and then the urge to punch them out will prove too strong and I will be banished from the shows (again).

Well Rory, threads like these are designed to help those who do not know everything about the subject in hand build their models more accurately if they care enough about these things so that they can tell the said low-life, joy-sucking, nit-picking twerp to go fly a kite off the white cliffs of Dover. If you don't care about these things, then you can and probably will do that anyway I find this thread very informative, so thank you to all who provides input.

Hey- can the C-hornet carry 2 GBU-38 on one pylon? Like the Viper does on the BRU-57?
