Default 1/72 Grumman C-2 Greyhound

Ive been waiting for kit of this beauty for ages. But after all, it was easier to make one by myself Ive use old RVHP conversion set for Fujimi kit as a base and make some changes here and there to fit Hasegawa offering - made new cockpit, interior details, upgraded surface details and modified control surfaces. To make long story short (or shorter... at least), Ill rather put this photo story here

Modified fuselage has been casted to some (for me) strange kind of polyurethane - great for rescribing panel lines, but too fragile. Yeah... lost few of them

At this point, Ive offered modified parts back to RVHP...

...and started work on Hasegawa side of build. Thats where the fun started

...and when resin parts came back to me, Ive choosen this decal version

...and moved on

Holy cow! That is great work. I used to work on CODs and been waiting to build one for a long time as well. I'll use yours as a reference for sure. Great work on the interior, looks just as I remember.
Can't wait for the 1/48 from Kinetic!

Wow!

Thats a beautiful looking Greyhound, Vlad.

All the more impressive considering its 72nd scale. I seldom see C-2s built up but that's unquestionably the best one i've ever seen.

i sure hope the folks at RVHP appreciate the work you put into this effort. i think you re-wrote the book on how to do a Grumman C-2.

Thanks for posting!!

Cheers,

david

Glad to hear you like it I definitely will make more of these and as far as I know, there will be eight bladed propeller version too. For me, this is Flying Circus

My favourite is this one... Hell, I love Sundowners markings

I have rode on that first one in your group. Actually I have ridden it a couple of times. The kids on the boat call that one "The School Bus" for all of the yellow on it. Here are some shots I took while we were offloading our crap.

Yea I hate my job!!
This one is interesting as well.
