Default Trumpeter RA-5C

It's been awhile since I posted a WIP here. This is the Trumpeter RA-5C in 1/72. Seems a pretty decent kit so far. The tail is shaped wrong up top, but that's easily fixed. I'll have to do something different for the ejection seat pull rings. It's also my first time using Mr. Paint; this stuff really is all that!

The imgur images are pretty big, but you can include them using the
(bracket)IMG(bracket) Image URL format (bracket)/IMG(bracket):

Weird... In another forum - the pictures from Imgur come up in a "normal" size. But on here - their giant... Not sure why...

By adding a g on the end of the filename: (http://i.imgur.com/ezRx5Oc.jpg becomes http://i.imgur.com/ezRx5Ocg.jpg) it shows the smaller image.

No problem - not an obvious solution.

The "g" addition worked - still not sure why they are more "normal" in size on another forum...

I have one working its way up the stash. Will be following closely. Mine is the 48 scale one, which is broken down the same.

Actually, that fin tip is correct for some later RA-5Cs. See http://tailspintopics.blogspot.com/2...vigilante.html

This is the aircraft I'm building. Trumpeter's vertical tail shape looks nothing like this. My modifications aren't perfect, but I think it's close enough.

I wasn't happy with the shape of the vertical tail cap or the ejection seat handles so I fixed it last night.

A little more progress on the Vigilante. The fuselage is primed up, waiting for paint, although I used Tamiya rattle can white primer and the putty areas are still showing through. I may bomb it with black Stynylryz tomorrow.

Black primer, it is. I just couldn't get good coverage with Tamiya white primer. I will have to spray several more coats of white.

Paint and decals are done! All that's left is final construction and weathering.
