Default TopGun F-16N

Hi All:

Been working on another project. I'd kinda like to do the F-16N that the Marines flew with the modified splinter scheme, but the masking is gonna be a real stinker! Been looking for decals too but not finding. Here are some pics of my progress. I really tried to make the pilot like another Z5er did but could not quite pull it off. I need to do more figures I think...

Hope you all enjoy! More coming on this one...

Hi All:

Got the colors right. Camo Gray and Marine field green. Wrap around with subdued markings. This one is gonna get ugly. Was thinking of maybe taking the painting directions and blowing them up to 48th scale. Would make the perfect mask I think...

I believe there is a couple of companies who make masks for this jet. They will help out!

Hey Spaz-
I'm pretty sure I've got the decals you're looking for. I'll verify tonight. If I have them, I'd be happy to let them go for $10 shipped.

Fightertown Decals 48031 is still available from a few distributors. We used the correct gray and green colors for Decals, and have been the only decal maker to also do the 36375 color background for the national insignia. Also the only set of decals that has the correct paint scheme diagram.

Others have been partially based on the museum jet and interpolated from the original.

I built this jet some time ago using the FT sheet combo'd with a mask set from Aeromask that was cut to match the FT profiles to ensure better accuracy.

I don't have access to image hosting anymore, but my builds are all over FB.

Hi Gang:

Decals are in hand. Next will be the masks. Already have been in contact with Jim @ Aeromasks. Will be getting both 48th and 32nd sets. Have a Hase kit in the wings that will look awesome in this scheme. Thanks Jim!!!

Hi All:

Waiting for the masks to arrive but did some paint work. Put a coat of camo grey 36662 all over. Now waiting... I hate waiting.

Did you tell him to do the masks according to the FT instructions? His standard product is not accurate and is for a museum bird.

Can't wait to see how it turns out. Masks look like they'd work really well. Are they vinyl or tape or something else?

Hi Ed:

They are thin vinyl with an adhesive back. All precut and numbered for placement. You get a placement map for everything. They work well.
