Default SHM Stock Status Update and announcements

It's been a while since our last update or announcement. I know a lot of you guys are frustrated with the stock on most of the more popular items going zero balance, but we’ve been working hard to get the numbers back up. Most of our line has also proven quite popular in Japan, so we're now working to balance out domestic demand with overseas stock request. It's going to be a lot more level field of sale for domestic customers.

Many of our masters have been down for refurbishment and should now last for quite a lot more runs. We will be restocking all 32nd F-18 Intakes, F-4 intakes, F-4G conversions, J-79 Exhaust (we will now be carrying the short nozzle Exhaust) in the coming weeks.

We have some killer wheel sets due out. Just as our F-4G Conversion, all wheels are scaled from the real Aircraft wheels. A lot of R & D went into these.

Here is this summer's 32nd scale wheel line up

From left to right: A-10/A-6 Main Wheel (Different Brake assemblies, A-6 Early Wheel, F-4J/S MW, F-4 C-G MW, F-100 MW
The A-10 and A-6 Wheel sets will be release this month. The F-4 and F-100 wheels will follow in that order.

The A-6A/E Wheel Set. Note that both the Early and Later type OB wheel hubs are shown; these will be separate sets.

A-10A/C Wheel Set:

Note the Non-Symmetrical tread:

F-4C-G and F-4J/S main wheels:

Note that these wheel will eventually be released in 48th, though more so as solid wheel sets.

Later this summer look for the SHM 32nd F-4G, Slatted F-4E, and F-4S conversions. The Tamiya F-4G conversion will include a detailed F-4G I P for the rear cockpit (based on our IP from the Revell G Conv), the consoles, APR 38 Low/High/Special band antennas, APR-38 Chin Pod, Vertical Tail Pod, Outboard Pylons, LAU-118 Launchers, Belly strap, and the LES Conversion. The F-4S Conversion will be done in conjunction. Here are the basic F-4G parts:

Some photos of the completed F-4G Rear intro panel installed in the Revell F-4E. Note Pat O’Donnell built the cockpit using Mike Grant instrument decals.

The 32nd and remastered 48th DRAs are joining the A-10 accessory line. These really came out nice.

Joining the 32nd scale F-4 line is the short nozzle J-79 Exhaust, for both Tamiya and Revell F-4 kits. The long nozzle Exhaust has been reworked.

Here's one of our most requested restock items; 48th Legacy Hornet Intakes. As you can see, they now have the splitter ramp included, which will make installation a lot easier compared to the original configuration.

The 48th Hornet Intakes and 32ndA-10, & A-6 wheel sets will be going hot soon, so stand by.

Thanks for you patience guys.

They are in the next lot of wheels. They will be back in the line after the Nats.

Mike, I really hope you have been able to put to rest the supply issues of the past. This stuff is fantastic and I'm going to need a lot of that F-4 stuff.

Default Revell F-4G Conversion?

Can't wait. If one wants to convert their 1/32 Revell F-4E to an F-4G, are they SOL because the Revell conversions are out of stock, and these are Tamiya conversion bits, or will it matter? I still have the problem with Revell's mis-shapen nose radome.

Thanks!

Hey Mike,
Are the F-15 wheels going to be available in 1/48? Are you going to do early F-15 wheels? Man we really need your expertise on these....!

Yes, the F-15 wheels are in 48th too; both the early and late types.
32nd will come first, but it paves the way for 48th; just like the A-10, A-6, and F-4 wheels will do for their 48th side of the line. Here's how the 32nd ones are shaping up:

Note these become available after the Nationals with 48th coming shortly afterwards; though these will be for the Hasegawa and Great Wall kits. The wheels for other F-15 kits will follow later on.

As mentioned, the F-4G conversions for the Revell kit will be back in stock very soon. The nose correction is included with the G conversion and also sold separately.

The Tamiya F-4G conversion is in work and close to being done, though we still have some work to do on the slat conversion, which will be required for the G Conversion of course. We will probably combine the LES and G Conversions in one set.

We've eliminated the main problems in regard to our previous productions issues. That's not saying there won't be times when certain products will dry up for a little while, as we plan to keep that no more than 30 days; baring something catastrophic happens to the masters or all of the SHM team. It's a good feeling to have a great secondary casting source who knows your standard of quality.

It's fever over here, and a good one.

No pics of the LES conversion yet. Once I get some resin test shots, I'll post them.

What about all the F-16 and F-2 wheels? Are you ever going to release them?... I'm seriously considering offering my designs to some other manufacturer, as so far MANY hours of my work to create them for you seem to be completely wasted

I wanted to get the 48th F-16 and F-2 wheels out by July, but we are probably not going to make it. The F-16 Early light weight gear wheels will be released late August; followed by the F-2 wheels in September.

These wheels are now cast from SLA masters, as opposed to the 3D prints we worked with originally. They are better defined and will be the standard Hi Res SLA we'll be using for now on. No worries, your work is not going to be wasted.

Will you be considering doing Wheels for the F/A-18 A/B/C/D in 1/32nd scale?

Cheers
Emil

Will be back home from the Nationals later this week. 32nd F-15 and F-16 wheels are due out end of September and 48th following close after that. The 48th F-15 wheels will be for the GW and Hasegawa kits. Other F-15 kit will be addressed later.
