Hi Andy, Nope mine isn't in the gallery but I did post pic's when I finished it so I;m sure it's buried by now LOL. the reason I went freehand was I would have lost my mind trying to do it like you did with all the tape and blue tack. I know what you mean abut getting the decals to line up. After I was finished I ran into that problem and I wasn't about to redo it. I should have thought of it earlier "Smilly slapping head icon needed here"

Default 95% done!

Getting really close now! All that is left is to add the RBF tags, and some kind of centerline stores...I was thinking about a MER with little blue practice bombs. Anybody know where I can get some of those in 1/48?

Already thinking about what to start on next!

Here you can see where I touched up the decals to make them match the paint lines. A little of the light tan and a fine brush was all that was needed.

For the BDUs, there is a long OOP set from Flightpath, which is what I'm using for my TAV-8B, or if you can find sprue W from Hasegawa's Mitsubishi F-1, there are two apiece on that.

Nice work on the model and a complex paint scheme.

Thanks Craig!

mmm..I wonder how hard it would be to make a couple and cast copies. Fins can be made of sheet plastic or metal...

mmmmm....

thanks! the blu-tac works great, and a little bit goes a long way. You can reuse it over and over also. I have a ball of it (from this project!) sitting on my workbench. Found it useful to have around for various things.

Also, it sat on raw paint (the model master enamel) for 2 weeks while I painted this up with no ill effects. (though it did have a good 24 hours to dry before I put the blu tac on it).

Cheers
Andy

Holy crap; that's not a model, it's a pin-up! Truly masterful work, Sir.
