Default 1/48 Hasegawa F-18C 30th Anniversary

Hello, here is my latest build. FighterTown decals, resin seat and exhausts, AoA probes made from straight pins, and metal landing gears (from the kit). Had many difficulties with the build and painting, but learned quite a bit too.

The final set of pictures can be found here: https://picasaweb.google.com/1100676...segawa_48_f18c

I am open to your critiques, they provide some of the best learning opportunities for me.

I like that a lot - dirt in all the right places, and just enough to make it look used rather than a showpiece. I like the colour scheme - how about a genuine Hornet prototype for comparison?

Beautiful finish!! That scheme really takes me back to the Hornet's early years. I loved the scheme then, but I really love it now in it's final configuration. Well done and thanks for posting your work.

Love that scheme! Perfect weathering on the bottom too; not over-done at all. A stand-out build!

Thank you very much everybody, I really appreciate it. One of the reasons I was drawn to this scheme is that my first 1/48 model ever was Italeri's F-18 Prototype http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedi...twin-130279912 I must have built that in 1990 or so.

When I saw this scheme it brought back memories from those days.

I'm not sure if it is right to become aroused by looking at a model aircraft but all I can say is,

"WOW".
