Default Is a Kinetic F-5 Still a Possibility?

Sir,

I recall seeing some early CAD photos and even a mock up of a box cover, but then this seemed to drop off the radar. Some guys have made posts over on ARC acting like they know something more but not saying anything, so I figured I’d just ask.

What is the status, if any of the F-5 project you had in the works?

Thanks for your consideration.

Well, the AFV Club kit is nice, but it does offer room for improvement. IMO there's still room for a competitor in this market, as long as the competitior gets the shapes right.

I'd love an F-5A and B in 48th scale!

Not sure....my reading of the tea leaves could almost suggest a 32nd release versus a 48th. It seems that we are getting vibes of teh 48th releases as mostly USN types like the A-6. A new 32nd may be almost logical as far as I can tell there are no 32nd rumours of the subject coming from our Benevolent Chinese Hobby Overlords, and it may be a good subject for a smaller competator like Kinetic

Well, if they want to go head to head with the 1:32 kit, then they'd better do their homework. That kit isn't perfect, but it's pretty darn good for a 30 year old kit, and it doesn't have any shape issues that sticks out to my eyes... Yes, the detail can be improved, but that's the fun bit.

That would be most welcome on my workbench too.

Like I've said a million times. A newtooled F-5A/B would really piss off my wife.. As I'd be in my "cave" buildin justabout all 110+ jets Norway used to have. and some of them in more than one verson.

Your wish is going to be granted before Christmas.

The first release will be much loved.

Well, this could be interesting... A race between Kinetic and Tanmodel - let's see who makes the best one. Good thing I stocked up on Vingtor Decals

Well. After checking closely all available online Tanmodel CAD images and Kinetic F-5A CAD images (yes, I have them - I am actually reviewing them for Raymond for further corrections now) I can tell you that Kinetic kit is going to be much more accurate in shape and probably details as well. Of couse those images from Tanmodel may not be representative for a final product, but currently they just look bad in comparison.

Raymond has more than one person looking over the cad drawings which is good.

Kinetic has advertised the F-5A (including CF-5A and NF-5A) on the rear cover of Airfix Model World...my guess is that it won't be long now...
