Whenever I paint an F-16, I used Dk Ghost Gray instead of 36270 for that very reason. I know it's wrong, but it "looks" better.

I grew up in Syracuse and would always run outside whenever I heard jets. The former Brig. Gen. lived on our street, so they would always fly over. I got to see A-37's, A-10's, and then F-16's. The...

1/48 scratchbuilt A-5A Vigilante

I finished this years ago and it's been sitting on a shelf. I decided to pull it down and make some minor repairs to it. Since I never took good quality photos, I figured this was as good a time as...

1/72 Revell YF-102

Our club's theme for our upcoming contest is "Classic Revell". Any Revell kit made before the 1985 merger with Monogram is fair game, and it has to be essentially out of the box. I thought I'd try my...

1/48 Tamiya F-14B

This was my test bed for my Steel Beach F-14B conversion. It should be available sometime in January. This is Tamiya Tomcat #3 for me, and I'm still amazed at how easily it builds up. For this one I...

1/48 UH-2A

The director at the museum I volunteer at flew this helo off the Shangri-La back in 1967. He's always wanted a model, so I decided to see if it could be done. I chose the old Matchbox SH-2G kit as a...

1/48 Revell F-18E

VFA-136*doesn't get a lot of love, so I figured I'd use one of my SB Decals sheets to do a Knighthawks CAG jet. It's not the most colorful, but I got some good practice on weathering. The only...

1/48 VX-4 Bicentennial F-4

This will be featured in the July FSM. I made all the necessary changes to the airframe. Some people erroneously think it's an F-4B. It's actually an F-4J with a B nose and test leading edge slats...

Thanks all. This kit is probably the best engineered kit I've ever built. It's hard to believe just how well this kit fits together.

There are still a couple things I'd like to do, but for now I'm going to call it done. What an absolute joy to build. There are many more of this kit in my future.*...

1/48 F-14 vinyl tail braces

I did a set of resin tail braces for the new Tamiya kit, and I wasn't quite happy with them. The detail is nice, but I'm a bit worried that getting them thinned down enough will be difficult. So I...
